Integrated Polypropylene Products (IPP) is a leading brand in South Africa’s polypropylene extrusion and bulk bag manufacturing industry. We are fortunate to have experienced continuous growth and expansion in recent years, despite the various economic challenges faced in South Africa.
IPP manufactures and supplies high-quality PP fabric and bulk bags to the local and regional markets. We have a total extrusion and weaving capacity of over 8000 tons per year – most of which is converted into bulk bags. The remainder of the fabric is sold to the mining industry and other smaller bulk bag and webbing manufacturers. Our bag-making company, Custom Bulk Bags (CBB), has the capacity to manufacture up to 3.5 million bulk bags per year. We supply three major sectors: mining, chemicals and foods.
Sustainability, customer service and quality are the three main pillars of our business model. Through these principles, we can successfully meet our clients’ expectations with superior service delivery. IPP is accredited with a Level 2 B-BBEE rating, which brings numerous benefits to our customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Commission of new equipment
This financial year, we plan to invest in our facilities and equipment. IPP will update its old flat weaving infrastructure to bring it up to modern standards. We will also convert a section of the bulk bag plant into a food-grade facility to ensure we meet the stringent demands of our food processing clients.
In terms of sustainability, IPP has been using solar power for much of the plants’ energy needs amid load-shedding, and the bag-making department has benefitted from its rainwater harvesting and recycling plant to improve its environmental impact and reduce waste. In the next year, we will embark on a solar expansion project to improve our sustainable power generation capabilities and to ensure our facilities have more uptime.
We have also invested in small businesses in South Africa. Firstly, we have started an outsourcing project that has supported two start-up plants that will supply finished bulk bags into our product stream. We have invested in two other small businesses that buy woven tape from IPP to supply weave webbing for CBB. These investments will enable IPP to boost its production capacity and improve the overall quality and standard of its products.

IPP produces world-class bulk bags
Our bulk bags meet stringent testing requirements and have a minimum 5:1 safety factor rating. Using precision manufacturing and rigorous quality control processes, our bulk bags are extremely safe to use for various applications. IPP holds ISO 9001 certification for quality management and has several UN-certified bulk bag designs, accredited through Ten E.
IPP continually benchmarks itself against international competitors and ensures that it attains quality certifications using globally recognised testing houses like Labordata from Braunschweig, Germany.
We constantly strive to improve sustainability by using in-house recycled material from offcuts and rejected panels. We have contracted an accredited waste management company to handle the non-product waste. The use of solar energy, rainwater harvesting and recycled materials makes IPP one of the most environmentally-friendly bulk bag manufacturers in South Africa. The slogan “As green as can be” is registered as a trademark.
