The 2021 Investing in African Mining Indaba is set to take place on Tuesday, 2 and Wednesday, 3 February. However, for the first time in the indaba’s 27-year history, it will be a virtual event with guest speakers giving talks online. The event will be followed-up by a virtual investment programme, taking place on Tuesday, 30 and Wednesday, 31 March 2021.

“We recognise the role that [the] Mining Indaba plays in connecting the global mining community and its significance in shaping the industry for the year ahead. We look forward to welcoming you to our online initiatives,” reads a statement on their website. Attendees can still look forward to insightful talks by expert speakers via the online platform.

Why attend the virtual Mining Indaba

While the event may be taking place online, it is still a vital networking tool for anyone interested in the African mining sector. Countless deals have been made at previous events that have led to the successful development and growth of the industry. The expert speakers will share detailed insights into the state of African mining, which will be highly beneficial for investors, industry role-players and peripheral companies.

“Mining Indaba has a unique and widening perspective of the African mining industry, bringing together visionaries and innovators from across the spectrum. We are also dedicated to supporting education, career development, sustainable development and other important causes in Africa,” reads the statement.

It is a platform for connection and a key tool for forming new business partnerships. Any company that buys or sells products from or to mining ventures should attend this year’s virtual event. The exclusive investment programme running at the end of March 2021 is an ideal space for networking and making new connections.

Virtual investment programme for the 2021 Mining Indaba

“[The] Virtual Investment Programme delivers the highest quality meetings because every participant and project is personally verified and carefully researched by IR experts. We know your time is precious, so our experts will only match you to projects or investors that fulfil your criteria entirely. And whilst some platforms are motivated by increasing their meeting statistics, we’re motivated by connecting you to the right people,” says a statement on the Indaba’s investment programme page.

It is vital for attendees to register for this programme as soon as possible. Stakeholders and investors from mining companies, banks and brokerage firms should sign up to this two-day post-Indaba event in order to secure deals and ensure the continued success of the African mining sector.

While the 2021 African Mining Indaba is going to be an online event, the organisers have already announced the dates for the return of the full Indaba. Exhibitors and attendees can look forward to a more personal, social and connective African Mining Indaba in 2022, which will be held in Cape Town from 7 to 10 February next year. In the meantime, be sure to register for the 2021 virtual Mining Indaba.
